Hi all...

Doing an EL cruise into ED conversion and wanting to keep the Ford colours for my loom...

Out of the 8 wires I have two colours...

I'll need around 2m of each colour or as much as possible... Any one who can help or who has open looms who can cut some out I'd be very appreciative... If worst comes to worst I'll have to use similar colours that I have here out of my looms... Keeping in mind this is cruise, these wires might only be in the dash of EF/EL cars, if anyone else has them else where I'd be happy to hear...

Pin 1: Light Blue w/ White Trace ACQUIRED
Pin 2: NA
Pin 3: White w/ 1 Grey Dash
Pin 4: Dark Green w/ White Trace
Pin 5: Orange w/ Yellow Trace
Pin 6: Black w/ 2 Grey Dashes
Pin 7: Dark Green w/ Red Trace ACQUIRED
Pin 8: NA
Pin 9: Light Green
Pin 10: Black w/ 1 Grey Dash

All wires are the very light gauge stuff as used in EF/EL looms except the light green which is marginally heavier...

Anyone with an EF EL can look at the wires coming out of the plug near the booster for sizes and colours...

Anyone with anything close let me know and I'll see if it'll suit...

Post to NSW 2705...

Cheers...
Tim

Will do ash...

Cheers mate...

Its just neater and easier to identify than running 8 black wires... I know they are all taped up and not visible... But when I do things I like to do them once and make them look factory... Part of owning a sleeper type car... I want to do all these mods and let most people not ever notice them and think that Ford put them all there in 1993... When they don't realise you did it, then that's when it fills fulfilling that your a pretty good modder...

On a separate note, how did those illuminating ghia window switches ever go?

Cheers...

Anyone at all got any looms lying around with these colours?

Even if someone wants to me a cheap partly butchered/damaged loom I could steel the wires from... Interested in anything at all with these colours...

Has the thought occurred of buying a complete loom from an EF/EL? You seem to be asking for every individual plug (with wiring).

Just cruise stuff...

I really don't want to do that as then I need a complete ED loom and to make up a complete dash and engine bay loom (practically starting from scratch and wiring a whole new car)... Don't really don't want to go to that extent... I just need to run in a short loom for the cruise module...

Easier this way...

I only ask for plugs as I do mod's... One mod at a time for me...

why don't you just go down to an electronics store or something with a list and buy as much of each colour as you like?

coz nobody makes wires for public sale in these colours... Jaycar, d**k, Altronics, all make black red and grey... Narva do blues and greens too... But nowhere sells light blue with a white trace... or dark green with a red trace...

I not completely stupid  if it were this easy I would have done that already...

its all good...

As I said if it were that easy I'd do that...

Thats why I entitled this thread Ford Wire... As I don't know anywhere else I can colours like this...

I'm not getting any help here anyway so I might just use my EL engine bay loom and pick the closest colours I have to do the job...

Thanks anyway,
Tim
