Seem to be hard to find these days, and 6 and 8 are the same anyway, just different bell housing.

was told buy my merchanic that the top loader for the 6 had a shorter ratio first as apposed to the 8

From memory that was only the case in the single rail 4 spd.
Loader had 2 different types, the std 28 spline, and the 31 spline close ratio box. The loader i put in my XD 351 came out of a Cortina and the ratios were fine. Years ago to get cheap ones we searched TC/TD Cortinas, some people had no idea they came out with them so it was a cheap way of finding one, i think that cow would be well and truly milked now though. The only difference was the shifter, it was set forward compared to a Falcon so it had to be changed. Good luck though, if i hear of anything i'll let you know. |

Not to sure if you got my PM but how much you looking at getting one for? my brother inlaw has one it come out of an XF 6 cyl not sure what it was out of before that but if it fits xf it would fit XE. Let me know how much you wanna pay and i will try and talk him in to letting it go it is a great box i drove the xf before he pulled it out it was the best box i have ever used.
