Gf's mum's Express van has a buggered motor in Roma.
The van is not worth fixing. That leaves 2 choices, I drive 2,000km to pick her and her stuff (she was on holiday) or find her a van or wagon for her to drive back.

Considered calling up one of those wreckers who off cash for complete cars etc. and put that towards a pane ticket?
or has she got to much to haul back on a plane?

Whats that got to do with anything? Irrelevant of where she broke down unless it was right out the front of a wreckers it's gonna be a tow job. and those adds are 90% of the time to remove the car.

Just searched on carsales for VAN, any make any model, under $2500, Theres a hiace with a new motor in it, couple of Xf panel vans with 200 plus kays, id put faith in the fords any day, the hiace might be worth a look. I will have another quick search too

cheapest express on carsales is $4k (in qld) and its nowhere near Roma.
Im trying to get a hold of a mate in Toowoomba that buys/sells bits and pieces, he might be able to help |

Nice find. didnt come up on my ebay search beause set a 500km limit and that van is 633km.

only other thing i found were station wagons, all kinds anywhere from 1200 to 2000 with rego.
