from what i hear the ef/el cams are the same...

only the ecu is different to get the extra power

not after more power just smoother idle and about over 1.5L/ 100km less fuel usage.

i dont want to spend a lot on the car but say upto $200 or something.

i dont know what kind of cam it is it come with the car, big enough to give it a rough idle and chew lots of fuel but also it gives heaps of power. i just wanted to experiment with a stock cam to see if it would get better on fuel and make idle a lot smoother.

You want a smooth idle and good fuel economy, try an ALTED Stage 1 cam dude.
