For the sake of 3 x 10mm bolts, I'd put it back.

snap i still got mine, though i will have to re-route the handbrake cable how would i go about that??? coz when i put my handbrake on the cable would rub against the dampener and snap

Yeah, that's a bit of a strange one - my XH has the same setup, I'lll have a look to see, should fit no probs - although Alted fitted yours ?? (Say no more . . . )

yeh spot on, haha alted fitted mine, went through 3 handbrake cables and a mechanic found that was the cause of the problem

I'd say he's probably bent the bracket that the weight mounts to, maybe before he fitted it.
