Hey all
Just quick silly question i believe my BEM might be buggered in the EF monty , i was wanting to know can i use a GLI / a lower spec BEM in the car ? Have seen them for sale for cheap the lower spec BEM's and i am thinking of getting one as a spare in emergency situations I dont mind if some features dont work in the Fairmont with a lower spec BEM but what would not work ? Also can a BA/BF or AU smart shield remote work with the EF i know stupid |

You need a Fairmont BCM.
AU on remotes (Smartshield) won't work with smartlock, EF. |

Agreed,
The Fairmont BCM is the only on that will even plug into your car, the lower spec ones have totally different connections.
