it will be some sort of weird hybrid Fairlane / GT ECU... check it out for us and post up the catch code and car specs so we can add it to the list...

cheers, Hmmm, so do I just pull the passenger kick panel off, and read it off the ECU under there? I assume I'll see it as soon as I pull it off ... just don't want to break anything.

Ok, 1 broken xmas tree clip later, and I've got the code. It reads as part number 96OT-12A650-AA, so I'm assuming this is catch code 60AA ? So, does this actually mean anything. AND, the big question is, if I fry my computer one day, what are my options? Does ford keep producing all of these forever? Or will my car be useless ?
Specs are EL GT specs, 24Lb injectors and MAF etc, but with a slightly different Cam. So, where can I get hold of some cappa xmas tree clips?

should be able to get a cappa xmas tree clip from the wreckers...

its you lol you out bidded me a couple of weeks ago on a el xr6 manual ecu ?? didnt you?? i nearly through my phone through the wall when i missed out. i was just too slow bidding...

i didnt want that rubbish chip but i was keen on the ecu.. ive noticed that you have out bidded me on a few ford parts on ebay.. oh well guess what? i was the one that beat you this time 
ebay can be like a crazy fight..and very frustrating if you dont get the item you wanted...
ill swap ya for the el manual xr ecu if you want this one ..

i'd been chassing an EL xr Man ecu for the last 2 years.. so i'm quite happy with the price i got it for, i seen one sell last week for $650!!!.. 6DJA's are more common, another one will come up, i'll just have to wait a bit longer..

you have 4dcc listed as a fairmont ghia EF
but in my ef wagon Gli I have this catch code also did a search on this forum and someone else has said that 4dcc was in their wagon as well so 4dcc in my case was ef gli wagon auto 3.23 diff
