i have just converted my el to an au series 1 engine its from a wagon, it wont start and ive been going through everything to find the problem and i realised it has an eec iv ecu not the eec v ecu that ive found should have been in it. other than the engine, i had to change the gearbox they threw a three speed in it. my main concern is whether trhe ecu is stopping my car from working because of the gearbox change, im running out of ideas, ive changed all the fuses and relays

Give us more detail - how is the AU engine set up with electrical looms, is it AU motor with EL runnig gear, does it motor over, etc.
Pretty hard to make a recommendation when you only get fed scant background information.
