My EF Fairmont has an ECU with 94DA-12A650-CC on it and it has failed in the idle speed control section.

I've been offered one which has 96DA 12A650 BB on it, but I don't know if it is really compatible. Does anyone know how to find out? and what should a second hand one cost? Also I figured out that the bit that failed is called a 71007SB. Where do you go for one of those? Admiral Duck

It seems to be suitable just going from the part numbers? But then.... I have no idea.

generally el ecus had 96da part numbers.

el ecus have totally different plugs and are not compatible. you need to find an ef ecu which will have a 94da part no. you can get them on ebay for like $40. hope this helps

Where abouts in melb are you?

Our site sponser should fix you up for a small fee. visit: http://www.fordmods.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=29855 Also be sure the Idle speed motor is replaced or checked out to prevent another dead transistor on the ecu.
