What sort of differences do people with EL exchasers notice over standard gli/futura ECU's?

Been told they aren't speed limited and have different shift points.

Can anyone offer more info?

Frank i s right. Its auto shift points are higher, and XR's dont have a limiter on speedo. But not all "chasers" were GLis,as most were XR's with OPT 20.

Yeah I have conflicting info for ages in regards to my AU XR8 ex cop. I believe the instrument clusters are different, ECU and suspension. As far as everyone goes about the police "pulling out the chip" before they sell it. its a load of crap.. it costs them more to do that then it does just to sell it as it is.

theres not much difference in power though. The way people make a fuss about them u would think an ex cop car would have a weiland supercharger under the bonnet. its probably only a matter of 20kw diff or something

The option 20(police pack) is transmission cooler and speedo in 2 kph increments and no speed limiter. There the ones that I know and there may be more.

Gimme your catch code from your EL ex cop EEC. I may be able to tell you what it has or hasn't got.

Not off hand. I'd have to fire up Son-of-sucker and rip your EEC out to get a binary dump. Then i'd have to find the speed limiter location....not easy.
If I had a std XR6 with the same data locations it may be easier...of course that's highly unlikely.

there is no KW difference or 'chip' fitted to the XR cop cars they just have different shift points in the auto and no speed limiter. the inst. clusters are black face instead of blue.

You would think so, however there is a different ECU or ECU setting in these cars, Herrod Motorsport said it, and I pulled my ECU out to have a look yesterday (For that SCT raptor code thing) and the code has been changed and has other markings on it. So it must be different
