Hi all need some help regarding these two ecus interchangeable. Currently running a 6DGD in my vehicle (1997 Fairlane 5.0 auto) will there be any issues if i replace with 4DEG. I searched and found the following for each.
4DEG - EF 5.0L Auto - Revision G - Gli, Futura, Fairmont, Fairmont Ghia, Fairlane, Fairlane Ghia. 6DGD - EL 5.0L Auto - Revision D - Gli, Futura, XR8. Are there any differences internally pinouts etc and anyone know what the difference is re programming of these two? Any assistance greatly appreciated. Regards |

I believe that it wont work as the EF has a coil pack which is controlled by the ECU and the EL has a Dizzy. So the outputs will be different.
But please correct if i am wrong guys

He is talking V8 and EF V8 does run a Dissy.
