Yep, base.

It's called WOT Spark adder for RPM.

There's some shaky AU stuff about, but a few more hurdles yet. Stay tuned...

what ive done is used the alt timing map as the WOT timing figures are about the same in all 3 and the rest of the alt map is lower values than the others so the ecu will select those values anyway correct? ive then set the WOT timing to 16degrees between 2500 and 5000, then copied this to the other maps, should be a safe starting point for a turbo tune right?

also there is no WOT spark adder in the ea def, mabey in the eb-ed? i dont know but its not there i the ea program

cheers mate

Sounds good. Im around 15deg with 7psi (non intercooled powerdyne).

I copy the modified timing table you want to use into all 3 tables.

Which def are you using?

too easy cheers, and the rev limit hysterisis, is that the amount of revs the ecu drops the engine back by before firing the injectors again?

Hey mate,

Thanks for the kind words.

The older bins have very different spark management.

With the EB/ED bins, I put the same spark table in all 3, and update when I make changes. You also have to modify the WOT advance table.

With EF/EL, as per the tuning guide, I put 50's in one pair of tables and edit the other two. There is no WOT advance table in these bins (just an adder).

As the guide explains, the EEC always picks the lowest of the spark values for a given mode of operation.

Higher VE implies more air which means the EEC adds more fuel.

Cheers,
Jason

Jason, I am tuning an EF manual with a mild grind cam. I have sussed out the fuel mods via the VE table no problems. However the reference in your post re timing adjustments and how it is done in your tuning guide... I'm having trouble actually finding that particular guide. Could you point me in the right direction.

I am using the 4TAB 01 split 04 64k bin as a start point, with N4MG30 v13 64k as a definition.It lists a lot of spark tables. Do I use Spark table MBT as a base ?

I wish I had this setup years ago... would have been fantastic for Ford tuning back then !

Cheers Mike

Hey Mike,

The Beginners Guide covers this - see http://www.tiperformance.com.au/Technic ... 0Guide.pdf
Quote:
To keep things simple,
o use MBT as your base table;
o copy this into the MBT MPG table.
o Fill both BDLN tables with 50s.
o This ensures the ECU ignores the BDLN table and you have one base spark map to tune.

Cheers,
Jason

Hi there,

AFAIU, 6DBA is not EL XR6. Any of the codes you have mentioned should work fine. See http://www.tiperformance.com.au/technical.html for the recommended application chart.
