i want to get 160 to 170 rwkw out of my ef fairmont, and want to know the best way to get it, i was thiking of dev 5 jmm kit 3.45:1 ratio and a stally. what 1/4 \mile times would it run has got super lows so will be a little slower then standered height.

i doubt a JMM dev 5 would pull that through an auto your gonna need descent head port and a big billet street race cam and a chip to be able to achieve that sorta power. and with a 3.45 and a dev 5 i would expect maybe High 14s.

i have a dev 5 head and cam package on my el which is auto and im hoping to be around that, which i think should b achievable with right exhaust, extractors and intake, as 1 of my mates also has an el with pretty much the same head pulling 190rwkw, onli diffrence is his is manual and sum piggy back comp which i dont think has been tuned propperly yet. but i do think its possible

manual with a dev 5 180rwkw is achievable
auto and youl be looking at about 150rwkw.
the btr dosent respond well to mods and because of the tall gearing and a massive cam isnt always going to do alot of good, if you get a dev 5 kit, get a edit and maby 4.11. that should get you mid 14's slicks and a 3000rpm stally and you might even crack the 13's.
its a long shot with a auto but nothings impossible

190rwkw? is that on the JMM dyno? im guessing so.
has he run any 1/4 mile times yet?

im guessing on a non JMM dyno 140-150rwkw

relax now, jim C**k dynos arnt that fixed, ive had many mates pull 140rwkw on several dynos with a dev3hl kit. a proper tuned manual dev 5 with a healthy motor should easly be pulling more then 165rwkw on any dyno

Try more than 30kw.

Just look at what a standard EF/L pulls on a dyno ~105rwkw from a 156kw engine.

convert to manual. btr box is crap i picked up a second and 5 mph down the quater. as for 190kw at wheels u will need to have a big back pocket i spent 3 grand doing all work myself and only got 15.6 not sure about rwkw

soz, for the long reply time, that 190kw was on a dyno at tafe, which we have run quite a few cars on reasonably accuratly on. its all about the operator aswell, not so much the dyno so id say if JMM's dyno results are so far off they r able to do sumthing about it.

A cam similar to a wade 1636, exhaust and extractors with a k&n filter should see you close to 130rwkw, which is a low 15 second timeslip. In the 4spd autos (ef specs).
And with the auto over a manual, seeing many dyno runs between the two, the autos are probably only 10% down on power, if that.
