whats 40thou in mm? 1mm?

cms are testing a 4.5l setup which is abt 98mm bore on stock stroke. theres about 6mm increase there...

Yes, but I doubt it will be getting revved as hard as a 4.0 would to make 190rwkw.

Saw the add in Street Fords - Good Price for a claim of upto 175rwkw :)

Apparently 175rwkw was achieved in an EF Manual without a Modified ECU
Just Extractors and Exhaust :)
ACL Rebuild Bottom end though just to tighten it up.........

Tested Car had a Wade Cam - dunno what profile

I've just sent them an email asking about valve sizes and flow figures for the head in that package.

I'f they can't/wont supply that info, i wouldn't be buying it

still no reply

got an email from them today.

Hi Brad,

We use a std inlet valve and a tickford ex valve, with a std bottom end
and just using our head package only you can get up to 35KW increase.

Made 370rwkw @ 12psi. Starts, idles & runs better than a standard one.

370rwkw on 12psi?
what the hell is done to it?
sure thats not 370rwhp??

That's what hitman said to my co worker (jt). JT has some photos of the car & the engine looks the part aswel.

lol - as if - how many more rwkw's do you want from a head and cam package for $1,095 go to headtech and spend $3,000 then you may get what your looking for - besides there is no huge gain in making the inlets bigger unless your bottom end is a modified in a big way

There is only so far you can go with an e-series head anyway - I have seen a JMM DEV 5 head and Compared to my Hemi 6 head the JMM head only has mild porting.

But if its a tried and tested product that gives you results then thats what you pay for.

The $1,095 includes a Cam, is a complete reco head...........

So new Cam, New Inlet and New Exhaust Valves, New Springs, and all the associated gear that goes with attaching the Valves to the Springs, Ported, Crack Tested, Shaved and ready to bolt on and go...........

Its an awesome price

Price up what is costs for:-
New Inlet
New XR6 Exhaust
New Springs
New Cam

then price what it costs to Port the head, crack test and shave RRP not some a** price you get from a mate who knows a mate who works at a workshop in his backyard.

At the end of the Day you pay for what you get

yeah my headgasket cost me a grand when it went on the eb, and that was without and porting, just welding up the corrosion, and putting it back on flat with a new gasket and welch plugs.

and that was the cheapest place of the lot, starting at $750.

i guess a brand new reco head with some performance gains and a cam is vastly prefferebale to a welded up stock head for the same money.

Okay, so I paid $60 to get the head machined.
It cost $220 for a reco head with new valves.
$150 to get the head ported.
All at a local workshop.

Get f**k anyone in their right mind would spent a grand on a next to stock head.

The $1,095 includes a cam

So whats your rwkw with your $430 job where you supplied them with the head? actual not guesstimate?

Is yours a ticky head?

There are plenty of ppl who would pay that as its cheap.........

I paid $450 in performance parts for my head - Springs, Inlet Valves, Exhaust Valves - not this std off the shelf rubbbish from my local workshop

what does your head flow, what does this other head flow.
you get what you pay for in 90% of cases when it comes to vehicle modification.

I didnt get any of the headwork done there as I found out about it a few months after I did the head.
I dont know what the head flows from them, but surely it would have to be more than this head that uses stock sized valves, as they use larger than stock items.

They also dont charge like a f**k, theres not $500 worth of labour involved in porting/recoing a head.

Depends on where you go, OED666 went to Gilbert's on the Gold Coast, spent $1300 on a stock head and they ported it to flow 350~hp

get f**k wanker.

There is s**t loads MORE than $500 in a GOOD port job.
My RB30 heads have about $1000 in labor just for porting. then there is machining and parts on top.
4L heads take about the same time to port well.

You get what you pay for. If all you want is quick polish then yeah it'll take about 2 hours. but it wont achieve anything.
