with the serpentine setups on 4.0litres is it possible to remove all that and fit the ea pulleys, balancer, and water pump, power steer and a/c etc? could be getting a ef xr6 motor to put in, and what about coil packs then going to a single coil?
thanks

if you're referring to the EF 4 litre, then yes, the serpentine can be changed. The accessories are the same, with different pulleys. Shouldn't be a problem.
With the EF coil packs, it would be easier to stick in your dizzy, and use that. esepcially electronics wise. Cheers

You must also change the timing cover case.

Cheers Timing marks on the EF/EL are in a different place, and also, about 1/4 of the size of the EA-ED ones. EA-ED has two prongs, one for TDC and one for IGN . The EF/EL has one mark, and its about 2mm big, where the EA-ED ones are about 10mm in size. I changed a Hybrid EL motor to the 3 Belt series, Thats how I found out ... and Done the serp belt conversions before ... same problem .. Change the case while the motor is out ![]() |
