I wouldnt say an R33 GTR is guttless, anywhere in its rev range, they have very good power down low and to some poeple they feel just like a NA car... A 9sec GTR is a totally different story, nothing under 5000

Dyno runs has been set back a few days - I did my car again, on shootout mode 6 and had the same very close result, as the first run in 3rd gear.

Im not going to run it again in my car, (putting a cam in a motor that has already been modded would not be right) and for the people who did not believe my results, My results are correct.

I'd taken my motor apart, and yes, its not a stocko EF XR6 Motor - I'd never had time to take it apart before hand, and never needed too .

Now, I've got a few different cars I can run this cam in, I'd got the use of a ED, Or a NL Fairlane, Both STOCK. The ED is a manual and the NL is an auto.

Both of them are stock, No Extractors, and NO Advanced ingnition timing will be run on them

The cam will be installed without a vernier cam gear, and just using the correct shims.

Hence why im not going to use the ALTED XR6, because I want to see results from a stock standard car.

stock or not that is a great result regardless, but out of intrest what did you find when you opened her up???

and why wouldnt you want to play with ignition timing aswell, the point of a bigger cam is to get more air and fuel into the compustion process a consiquance (spelling) is a slower burning time due to the nature of petrol being the more there is the slower it burns, so you would want to start the compustion process a little earlier to make full advantage of the benifits gained from the cam.

just my 2c worth, no s**t fight intended.

oooohh you've done it now, the fists will fly.. :P
Nah, I agree, anyone who buys the cam anyway would be smart to advance the timing, maybe you could find a recommended advance for use with the cam?
And what DID you find inside the EF motor?

Keep in mind the ALTED cam is actually A Stage 1 cam, which means that it really intended for stock or close to stock motors. From what I have seen it has really good bottom end and a perfect idle.

Personally, I can't wait for their Stage 2 cam, but I'm going to be trying out this Stage 1 soon anyhow - see how it goes against my 1004. 8-)

Yeah true.. I guess it would be handy to be able to honestly say "this cam will give approximately x rwkw on a stock motor, no other mods".. would help people more easily compare cams
