I believe the BEM you speak of is not there lol... its an EB.

well i dunno i was fiddling with the wires again and everything is working fine now :S lets just hope it doesn't stop while im driving cause then that would really suck.

i think ive solved my problem. there was a (+) wire on the battery that was connected to a loom but the wire was hanging onto 2 strands of copper. So i cut and stripped the wire and everything seems to be working well. i tested by pulling the loom out to see if it did the same effect as last nite and it did. and so i rewired it.

well here goes another problem

this car needs some major part replacement. getting old i guess

well this time the car is still running normally. but a very LOUD rattling noise occurs now. i just drove home from work and then turned into my street and it started to rattle. it didn't seem very loud and thought it might just be a little piece of rubbish stuck under the car, but it didn't stop when i stopped in my driveway. what could be making this rattling?

ummm its coming from under the bonnet. im too scared to start it to check where its coming from cause it might break something even more lol. but i might have to just to check it out. It continues to happen even when its idling. but its really loud. like my friend was sitting in his car outside my driveway about 10m away and he could hear it. i think its got something to do with one of the things that run off the drive belt since it gets worse as i revv the car. i dun think its coming from inside the engine since it seems to be driving normally last nite.

probably water pump pulley or something. any suggestions

okies i found the problem, and it seems quiet serious. since ive never had this problem. ive attached some images and ive circled the affected area.

The pulley has broken off and is loose and so its rotating in a funny way. the pulley keeps hitting the stick that goes through the centre of it and i can wiggle it free to remove the belt. i think the belt was on tooo tite making it break off over time.

how much is it going to get it fixed? can i do it myself?

lol, go to the wreckers, and get that whole black bracket (with the pulley on it), replace, your done. Don't stress, it's nothing.

ohh okai. i called up ford and they said they can sell just the pulley for like 33 bux or something. but i think replacing that bracket might be easier

cheers mate. and yeah i was reading the gregory's manual and found out it was just the Idler pulley.

how many nuts are there to undo to get that black thing off? i can see 2 but i think there is 3 :S. and the tensioning nut thingy on the pulley is so tight can't get it undone.
