Dont Ford have 24 hr roadside assistance? Or is that only on FPVs?

Yes you are right, on all new Fords for the period of warranty.

sounds like an airflow meter/tps problem, definitely electrical. no doubt ford will plug the diagnostic scanner into it and find the problem... if it logs an error code.
