check out redbook.com.au and carsales.com.au, they won't give you definate prices (nothing or nobody can - but will give you a good idea).
What do you mean by what should you look for? what problems? well if it's a family member that you trust then ask them about any issues/problems! besides that just the obvious - signs of damage or repairs, etc.

check for power steering leaking onto your alternator ... front suspension clunking in and out of driveways ... gearbox leaks ... sump gasket/oil pressure switch leaks ... another thing is rear shock mounts on the IRS models had issues as well.

Just a few things to look for.

i think youll find 99% of au fairmont ghias had a 4.0 vct engine. very few had the 5l option, though well worth it if you can get one... the 4l is suprisingly good with the vct, but is a bit hard on the fuel, and a bit sluggish due to being fuelled down (you need a capa edit for them to scream properly)...

im getting my capa edit done very very soon.. like 2 weeks away, cant wait!!!

That's a funny comment because the V.C.T. engine actually produces its torque higher in the rev range that the HP....
