I could be wrong here tho

i made a box up for the cruise in a ED and while it worked, when brakes applied you would have to turn engine off and on to reset

EA to ED are vacuum operated were the EF to AU are electronic and still cable.

Well, when you run the Barra in a ED or any other car for that matter and retain the fly by wire accelerator you can make the box up to run cruise........
