EL Ghia XR6 motor has been offered to me by a fellow Ford Modder. The price is pretty good I think, $750 which sounds very reasonable for a long motor hahaha.

The thing is what does a long motor mean?

Also being a Series 1 EB what will I need for this conversion. I have been told a water pump and a AirCon and a Power steering pump and brackets.

Will this conversion need to be engineered?

Thanks
Jamie

wouldnt spend the money on it when so many eb-ed's out there for 2k, like twirqurky said plenty x-cabs ef-el out there as well.. paid $1400 for my 96 EL, and thru some wheels on it and an exhaust job... and the best bonus LPG!!!

Yeah but my cars interior and exterior are pretty good. Pluis with a XR6 engine I was thinking it would be some what of a sleeper.

I have never been into wheels and all the stuff. I like street sleeps. They are the ones you can ever be too sure of hahahaha

not much power difference between EB XR6 than EF-EL specailly if you have a series 1 EB, EL would have more power stock. then you say yours is CPI, I would ditch that and go mpfi which is a bit of stuffing around eg computer, wiring etc but you'd get 20Kw from that alone...120Kw to 139Kw big jump in power for the 3.9ltr

not sure what series 1 EB XR6 would be but would be about 150ish I think being 3.9ltr
Series 2 EB 4.0 XR6 = 161Kw
EF-EL 4.0 = 157 KW

gives you somethink to think about doesnt it?

I have an EL, they handle better than the EF, EL suspension was sorted by tickford to make it handle better cos the EF was crap in the handling department

Yeah and the Engine i like is the 164kw XR6 EL, so that would be a step up again. Power to weight would be fun.....

Its just wether it will need a Engineers Cert. to get the all clear

yeh but in what condition, sure he can get lucky and pick up a good one but like he said he's not mechanically minded. He could end up with a dud and be right back where he started

Yep. The EBII Falcon S-XR6

No 3.9 XR6. Just a 3.9 litre "S".

I got the EL engine put in and its 10x better I mean its smoother and the power comes on a lot easier......the car is in really good condition, I just wanted a quick fix so I can start saving for a new car, this will at least hopefully give me a couple of years to save.

Thanks for all your help
