I have a "tick" coming from bottom end, at the rear of the sump, it's very subtle at idle but speeds up and becomes more noticeable as the revs increase. Is definitely a tick and not a knock. Any ideas?

a youtube link would be helpful.
A bottom end noise is not funny. I had a similiar problem, it's bearing worn. Because it's at early stage so it sounded not like knocking but more like ticking. Changed all main and conrod bearing solved the problem. |

Nah jks, you should check and inspect under the pistons, a bearing may have warped or spun or anything else. If it was top end, I would say lack of oil, but if it's bottom, better to visually inspect if you can. Goodluck Btw, any updates to your problem? I'm curious, cos I have an AU1XR in my EL at the moment. |
