Hi. Just like any information about the CamTech cam CT006-845.
My main concern is idles when this cam was installed. If there was any issues with the idle what mods where done or just get Jason from T.I Performance to program a J3 to suit.
Power figures would be helpful.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

that's a decent size cam. just double check the actual specs as it says valve lift is at 2.1:1 rocker ratio, where the ef is 2:1. but either way I don't think you will get it to run properly without a j3

well what are you after? you asked if there was any issues with idle. with something that big, its going to need to be tuned to idle properly. shouldn't need any other mods than a tune

Just ordered an 845 cam myself.

Speaking to another member on here who already has the 845 says that it idles with a nice lope once tuned with a J3.

I won't be fitting mine for a few months yet so would be keen to get your thoughts on it once you have it fitted and tuned.

Yeah mine idles great, nice and lumpy and sounds awesome when revved, needs a j3 tuned to suit though, but u won't regret it.

Hi slofrd. I have read your post about this cam. Did Jason give you a pre programmed tune. Also what rev range your engine works with this cam.

Yeah Jason gave me a pre programmed tune, though it was before I had the head work done, so the tune is a little off, still idles and runs great though.
The cam really comes on strong at around 2500rpm and pulls strong all the way to the 5800 redline :D

Racer, I used the intake centreline method- the method advised by camtech, and set it at 110degrees as stated on the cam specs card that is supplied with the cam.

OK. I have just fitted the CamTech 845-114 cam & T.I Performance pre programmed j3 chip.
Idle is perfect. When i gave it full throttle i did notice pinging or chain rattle at around 3500-4500 rpm.
After reading slofrd on another post i am sure it will be chain rattle. I have fitted so many cams and never had pinging issues before.
This cam is wow. I love it. It sound lumpier and revs faster through the rev range.
Slofrd can you conform about this chain rattle and is it doing it at the same rpm as mine ?

Well mine rattles through the entire rev range, though I've shaved mine 50thou and have a broken top chain guide. I'm not sure how much has been shaved off your head though.
And when I had this cam in the my ef fairmont with new chain and guides I had no rattle or pinging issues. Are you able to try and pinpoint whereabouts in the engine bay the rattle is coming from?
Glad your happy with the cam though, like I said, I'd recommend that cam to anyone!

It was pinging. Jason got a little bit excited with timing and leaning it out a little bit as well.
When Jason gets back he will fix it all up. I put my wade 977B J3 pre programmed chip back in and the pinging was gone. I did find that it goes and pulls a liitle bit harder. Very happy with this cam alround. sounds tougher, goes and pulls better and revs more from the 977B. That's what i wanted.
Very Happy with the CamTech Cam 845-114 (Malcom) and Jason at T.I Performance.
Thank you very one for helping & answering my questions.
