hey how ya all going?

as the subject says my 1990 fairlane seems to stop and start when it feels like it... at first every now and then i didnt want to start give it about 30mins and it would start first go... but the other nite i was driving home about 11.30 - 12 pm and the coughs and splatters and then hear a clank and the car motor stop and wouldnt start back up  ... so i had to hike back home... well anyways the next day i go to have a good look wats wrong with it and well started up just fine..

the batterys fine, starter motor is fine for the start ups. so im thinking on more of the side of a fuel pump problem like its losing pressure or seomthin? but then im on guessin and yes there was plently of fuel in the car

any help would be greatly appreciated
thanks people

Hey, is the car dual fuel? I had a similar problem a little while back and it turned out to be a faulty fuel switch, they replaced it along with servicing the tank and the gas mixer and it runs fine now and no longer stalls when it feels like it, the worst situation was when it was on the freeway. Hope it helps, but if it's not on LPG, then no idea about that.
just my 2c worth.
cheers

my mates VT was doing the same kinda thing - his fuel lines were blocked up, and so was his fuel filter - hehe he got that fixed, but it just pushed the problem down the line a little further! guess thats what you get for owning a holden! :P

but back on topic, i'd say check the fuel lines/filter - at least it's a start!

This is the only thing that makes me think it may not be a fuel issue...

Could be the pump, when it cuts out and you go to start it again does it make the priming "bzzzz" noise?
