i know i already had a thread, but things have changed lol.
now my car refuses to start at all...

so far i have checked/replaced:
leads
distributor/cap/rotor/TFI
cam timing
spark timing
fuel/gas delivery
ignition loom
reset ecu
checked all earths
TPS
vacuum lines
fuses

the car has new plugs, but i accidentally threaded 3 of them which bent the tip slightly, so im going to buy new plugs tomorrow to rule that out anyway

the only other thing i can think of is that there may be a damaged wire in the loom that i couldnt see when i was checking/repairing it. so i will replace that tomorrow as well
i might grab a spare ecu from the wreckers as well

please help :( this is doing my head in

and the car does this

Aux shaft, mine doing the same thing, new dizzys tend to chew them out.. once the case hardning goes it chews it out and then flattens the teath.. in the process of fixing mine now.. pull the dizzy out and maybe the manifold off and have a look at the gear the dizzy drives if its shiny at all its gone..

Is there spark at all? At the coil or the plugs?

yeah i checked every lead with a plug on the body.
they are all getting spark, but its a bit weak.
still shouldnt cause it to piss and f@rt like it is.
Ill be picking up a new coil today as well just to rule that out, as well as the little transistor thing that goes under it.

the only things ignition wise that havent been checked or replaced are:
ECU
Coil/transister
replaced ignition loom

but i gonna burn the thing if after replacing them also the car doesnt run lol

The device underneath it is just a suppessor. unlikely to fail. but you never know! If you have spark, but it's weak, I'd go for the coil. They are in a bad spot on the motor and tend to fail alot coz of the heat. Hope it gets you out of trouble

oh I know where the coil is lol. Had a feww battles with one in the past.

Any other parts I should consider picking up while I'm out (trams suckballs)

I still wouldn't have thought that weak spark would make it miss and sound like it's firing between cylinders.. But I'm willing to accept anything ATM lol

I know that this sounds weird and all but bear with me.

Have you tried a DIFFERENT battery? one that is at least 450CCA?????

I know that i had the same prob with my EF and called out racv guy and everything. Tried to jump start still no good, tested the battery and it was 0.1V below what it should be. Got a new battery in there and it kicked over straight away.

Nah I haven't, I'll charge my spare when I get home and give it a go..
I charged the battery that's in it overnight and it turned over aloteasier/quicker

I've had battery and alternator problems before and the cars never done anything like this

well i ran the self test and got this result:

51 - ECT sensor signal is greater than the Self-Test maximum of 4.6 volts.
54 - ACT sensor signal is greater than the Self-Test maximum of 4.6 volts.
63 - TPS circuit below minimum 0.6 volts.

this is after replacing the coil and ignition loom
