would a dodgy distributor or coil cause a misfire or pumped up lifters,i have an ed xr6 and it is running rough,cant figure it out

could be a number of things leading to a miss fire
leads plugs coil dizzy blown head gasket map sensor the list can go on but these are your major cause check these first and see how ya go

are the dizzys from the centre point engines different to the multipoint engines,i think that might be my problem
