I was wondering if the splash panel under the radiator of the EA-ED Falcons serves any other purpose besides helping to stop water/mud/dust etc. splashing up under the front of the engine?

I would say not only water, mud and dust but also rocks thrown up from cars and trucks in front of you. Would be a lot cheaper to replace a splash guard than a radiator.
Just my opinion.
