father inlaw smashed a number 3 exurst valve rocker thing
cleaned it all got bits out of timming chain replaced rocker. BUT now when i try to start , it turns but sound like an electric moter and it dont fire.. I get a burst of fule back up carby sometimes but no flame.. Should i just replace moter or keep goning at it????

sounds like valves are bent resulting in no compression... either remove and replace head and valves, otherwise just put another engine if you don't want to play around pulling head off.....

ahhhhh i didnt want to read that but i kinda suspected it..i got two engines but would like to fix without replaceing head or engine.....
Engine replace seems the go i just tryed turning again and it seems iv missed some smashed bits as i can hear somthig loose in there clatering around the timming gear or sump |

what engine is it mate? 4L ohc EA-AU?
you might find its stripped the pin on the cam gear and spun it, possibly bent half of the valves. |

R.I.P............................................
 Well i took the head off only to find number 4 intake valve kinda snapped and inbedded in the piston.. putting new moter in on saterday.
