car is ef 6cyl. has had manual conversion and has a chiptorque ecu chip.

problem. every now and again the car starts to run like snot and sounds like a rotary. ive pulled the chip out and the car ran fine. put it back in and it ran fine for a while then like snot again.

does the chip just need new programing or what?
