lol, my mate timed himself in his manual VT and got 19 seconds, I told him how unaccurate stopwatches can be in both directions.

Jap cars are more expensive because they are......well jap cars packed with technology and are imports (i don't think all are?). Vtech engines go like crazy and if they are turboed.......don't even bother. my mates integra vtech turbo gives my EL no chance of survival. how ever my EL can tow....i dont think the Integra can tow as well or at all. The prelude is basically the same as the integra with the exception that its bigger in size. Totally different cars so nothing to compare really.

Oi f**k... Welcome back.. Long time no listen to your dribble. Been on a holiday or something?

My neighbour bought a 98 Honda Prelude VTIR for $19,000. I think it was also about $50k brand new. Ok mine is 1 yr older but I reckon it s**t all over the Honda in every possible way. How can he justify paying that amount. It makes my blood boil.

Its his money who cares. Be happy with the car you have, instead of trying to compare it to every Tom, d**k and Harry out there. They are in a totally different class than a Ford. They are an import, low volume and therefore something more special, and their resale value is generally higher for that reason.

EB V8 wrote:
Ford represents a sensational used car value proposition but probably not so good if you buy new. Why are people so blind and dont see the value of the used ford? They instead buy silly cars with no torque and pay more than twice the price.

Finally you have said something true and logical...

However, Fords in general are a dime a dozen. Fairmont Ghia's are the same, hence the lower used buy price. But it also falls into a status thing. For instance, Gen3 buyers generally have small d**k and need something to show off with. People who buy imports like this generally have a few more $$$ saved up to spend on a car, and are wanting something a little more special than the average Fafirmont Ghia.

If ever there was a doubt, you have single handedly proved to me they do exist. Thanks for that!
