Have tried timing light on my el xr6 but the mark slowly revolves 360 degrees. Any ideas please

Yep.did it in base mode.harmonic was broken.replaced that.tension pulley,belt.now it surges on acceleration.

Put a white mark on the inner and outer hub so see if the outer hub is not spinning.
