does anybody have any tips on how i can get some more horsepower out of my 3.9 litre Ea. its a manual if that makes any differance. im getting a 2 1/2 cat back exaust for it Wat elseshoukd i do to it........? [color=black][/color]

headers,intake,cam,headwork would be my sugestion

Cat back exhaust and extractors will make a good difference. After that, probably a regrind cam, XH snorkel, and an air filter (snorkel and filter won't make a huge difference).

If you want a reasonably quick 6 cyl NA car that you don't mind being a bit rough around the edges then you have a pretty good starting point with the EA 5 speed. Get a decent zorst and extractors and then a cam and it will go pretty well.

that reminds me im looking for sum of them red led bonnet washers if any1 has them and some lowered king springs (not 2 low though just a nice.....u know what i mean lol)

1st thing i would do is chuck the diff in the bin, and get 3.7 gears witha good lsd, tho old ea's had a 2.77 ratio, next would be extractors then a k&N pod with cold air duct, let her breath then work on cams and headwork

hmmm 2.77 gears ay? mine might have different gears in it as mine can see 62km/h in first. and ideas lol? sorry about the thread highjack.

otherwise.. cam/headers/2.5 inch exhaust/colp air intake/heavy duty clutch..and 3.45 diff gears should make a nice difference... -as it did on my EA S-PACK...

ok forget the bonnet washers lol. my ea fairmont ghia already has a lsd in it. i almost spun the thing the other day (gotta watch the lsd's). i dunno wat ratio tho. itll be in the workshop manual but that means i have to walk all the way outside to look in it lol
