Hey guys, i just got a quote from a head place that quoted me 500-600 to service, port & polish and put in some new springs in. Does this price sound about right?

How much did u spend on your head?

I told the guys i want it to rev a little better and give it some more 'go'

I got my head resurfaced and tested (pressure test, valve seal tests etc.) for $200. Got quoted an extra $250 - 300 to get the head port polished and shaven.

So I guess it sounds about right for what you get.

they wont be doing much port work for that price. Too cheap for any real porting to be taking place

yep more like $1000 for decent head work with flow tested results....

Mine was mates rate, but yeah...wasn't too sure as to the quality/amount of port polishing that was going to be done for the price he quoted me.

Always thought $300 was a reasonable price or a port and polish :?.

$300 will get you about three hours worth. not enough to do any reshaping.
so you end up with a nasty polish job

Ahhh okay. Well that's good that I didn't go through with a port and polish then. Saved myself money :D.
