hey guys,

as some people may know i have been asking alot latley about what cam to get for my ef gli.... well after alot of time and thinking and talking to different people i decided on a wade 1004-10 billet.

today a mate and i wacked it in, we did a service on it, plugs, oil and dropped the big stick in. when we started it it was twice as loud as before and has a really sweet note to it, that lasted for about 15 seconds before it stalled haha.
The only way we could get it into gear without stalling was to up the base idle to its max and sits on 900rpm in drive, it stalled around 20 times whgile trying to get out of the drive way and then it was like magic! the thing drove awsome, an absolute beast, tons more power everywhere. after 10 mins of cruising the idle has settled down and it behaves, just well it dosent behave really but who cares!!!

A big thanks to wade cams for the cam and to my mate dave who did 90% of the work - i undid some bolts 8-) .

and what does dave drive? a turboed ea sprint!!! slowea plates and 370rwkw+ man i went for a drive round the block in that and it was the fastest thing ever!!!!

im all exited now i might go for another lil drive :D

i had the same things when i put the wade 1636 in.. stalled like mad for the first hour, had to crank up the idle ,dunno what it would have been like if i didnt have the xr ecu, probably wouldnt bloody go at all..great torque shove when you floor it and lumpy as hell idle..

these cams certainly awaken the beast within thats for sure especially with the other mods ive got.. to those who dont have a 'HOTTER" cam i can only say get one!!!!

no need to tune it up and dial the cam in, nice and new with no extra lifters needed... at the end of the day i wanted somthing easy, plus its somthing different, too many people have re-grinds in falcons

oh and i just took my mum for a ride..... well she loved it, i took it real easy but she says its really smooth to ride in apart from stoping n starting coz i have to use both feet to take off lol

Bit late now, but you dont need extra lifters with regrind, just an extra set of factory shims (easy to install - couple of bucks from wreckers). The reason why "too many" people have re-grinds is because for small cams like the 1004's there is no advantage in billet, and you save about $250

1004-110 is a nice cam though (had one before the 1521a). Has good strong low and midrange pull.

give the cam and odd 300-500km and it will be well and truly worn in and you will start to notice it more

I must say..I was pleased with the power improvement with the Wade Cam. I'm sure the idle will smooth out slighty over the next few days once the ecu stops freaking out.lol
