I got a NF fairlane cluster i want to put in my EF.
I been looking at the doco and there is no information on what pin is for what. It just tells you to refer to the workshop manual. Just wondering if anyone has done the conversion and can tell me what pin is for what. Im also looking for the looms too. Ben

why put an older cluster in a newer car?
is the xf cluster the one with the digital speedo display?

XF ain't going to work, if you mean NF then you need to replace the 20 pin on the LHS of the cluster with a 16 pin and rewire the pins. Additionally you need to add in the 12 pin connector for door ajar fuel boot sensors.

Yeah i mean the E series not x series.
I asume that the 20 pin on the left hand side is missing 4 pins so that all the pins fit the new 16 pin plug. Is the 12 pin plug just for the 4 door sensors and the fuel sensor? Anything else. Does anyone have the pin outs for these?

Does anyone have the pin outs for these? The 20 pin has more that 4 spare holes so it is just move the pins that are there. The 12 pin only does the new fairlane functions such as door, boot , fuel flap and SLS. The brake and park lamp out warning is done on the 4 pin that fits in the rear of the cluster. The cluster upgrade document has all the wiring and color information. One thing is that if you don't have a high series BEM then you need to install a resistor on the cluster but it is not documented like the mid series cluster, there was a post a while ago with the resistor placed external to the cluster, you will need to do a search.

ill give it a go when i get the cluster in. Im planning on putting in a high series BEM cause i want the light dimming and the variable wipers but that wont be for a bit after the actual cluster install has been completed.
Does anyonr have the looms needed?
