No dont go that far, just take off the air inlet get a can of throttle body cleaner and wirth a clean rag and your fingers spray and wipe clean the throttle body, start the car let the revs settle out and switch off and repeat the process. once its looking clean it shoudl run heaps better. Also get a small torch to shine in the TB so you can see the grime.

Cleaning out my throttle body helped a bit with a bit of rough running.

happens to me every week even without the aircon on. gets so close to stalling, but never does, revs kick back up and then its smooth as. Usually when sitting at the lights for no apparent reason.

why do u say things as fact when they are so far from the truth it isnt funny.
If the TPS is faulty it WILL bring the engine (Or ETC if its a Territory/BF) Light on and it will also log a fault code.
Further more, there was no such recall or service program on TPS for this issue.
There is an upgraded TPS, however this is to alleaviate "guard mode" concerns which again, WILL brging the engine light on.

99% of the time problems like this are caused by a dirty throttle body.
Clean it out as well as you can, than disconnect the battery for a minute or reset the KAM using a scantool (either does the same thing) and im confidant you will find the problem to be solved

I would have to agree that cleaning your throttle body should be your first priority every time, not only will it increase drivability, but also performance and economy. I regularly clean my throttle bodies(both cars) because I realised it is a rip off getting charged $150+ by ford for a 10min job. A job well worth doing.

I have also taken the top half of the BBM manifold off and cleaned it out with petrol(and let it dry thoroughly) and found massive improvements, the bottom half contains the butterflies that can be cleaned whilst installed, I would recommend cleaning the entire bottom half, if on inspection you find the bottom half to contain mass amounts of grime. Generally the top half will be sufficient.

I changed my throttle position sensor because I actually had a fault. I did not get it for free because ford claim it is not a recall item due to some BAs not suffering the issues my car was. I bought the part and installed it myself. I'm not big on wasting money to have an apprentice waste time doing something I can do for half the cost. $155.60 Vs $320+
In my case, where the car was stalling at the lights and under acceleration. I recommend a new TPS.
In other cases save yourself money and clean the throttle body regularly, for the effort you'll save $$$ in service costs and in fuel economy.

You'll notice the difference, and if not, the A/C may have an adjustable actuator as most previous model cars do. (I haven't had to research it on my BA)
If the car does not have an adjustable A/C actuator then I recommend taking it to ford to have the trouble codes checked and A/C settings adjusted(maybe call and check they can first)

I hope this has been of some help.

Good luck, and Happy Motoring!

interesting, well resetting the Kam hasn't had any effect on it so i'll clean out the throttle body when I get it back from bluepower. whats the best to clean it, petrol or something else?

Get professional strength carby and throttle body cleaner, but remember to follow instruction and start the car straight away when your done, It will splutter a little at first but then will level out.
