yeah when my head gasket blew, it was leaking straight into the cylinder, no milky stains in oil. it f**k my coolant bottle, where the join is on the bottle it seperated that and was leakign and actually spraying out. only noticed this after i did the gasket and then the bottle could not hold pressure anymore, had to change that aswell. i did my timing, water pump and chain sliders all at the same time. along with high flow thermostat and radiator bottle and cap. may aswell do it all in one hit if your keeping the motor.
chris.

yeah, im not expert but i guess that would be from worn sliders, especially the one the chain tensioner is on, found that to be the most worn on when i pulled mine out. i didnt have any noise from mine but i wanted to do it, just for my piece of mind.

could depend on how its been serviced in its life. my ed has got 162K on it, bought at 138K. and its gone through a head gasket, box and now the dif is s**t it self. but then again, its been converted manual, and the diff is from an xr6, god knows how many km. and for the head gasket, was a matter of when, not if hah.
