Yup.

Would sound about right to me if it included hi-flow cat and install.

Very different design. The JMM race series are like the old pacemaker comps - 6-2-1 with narrow primaries and very long secondaries. The current pacemaker comps are a 6-3-1 tuned length configuration.

I have heard as many people say they prefer one as the other. Other than the sound (which is very different) there probably isnt all that much difference between them performance wise. If you believe what JMM say, he claims to have tested the pacemaker comps and claims that although they made the same power on the dyno the race series are 2/10s quicker down the 1/4. I spoke to someone who had run both on his car and he said the pacemakers were noticably better on road and made 5rwkw more on the dyno.

who do you believe?

As I said, I dont think there is much in it. I would still go the pacemakers

That wasnt dave was it??

i want power all the way through the rev range, i got an auto and a 3.08 diff, so low range would be good so i can get off the line quicker. but i want power all the way through

A 3.45 LDS from a XR would help that!!!!!!

I just went down to the place where i got my Catback done and he quoted me $525 for the Pacemaker Comps (fitted) and the Cat converted to 2.5inch aswell. I think that sounds pretty good, is it?

Pacemakers definately have a well known name when it comes to extractors, they have years of experience in doing them. Not to say JMM don't as well its just before i joined thi forum i hadnt heard of them. Im running pacemaker competitions and a 2 1/2 stainless steal exhaust and i couldnt be happier with the setup. Has a mad growl to it, and an increase in peformance ova stock headers that is amazing, pulls and pulls through the rev range. My old genie extractors also were a very mad sounding and very 'pully' set as well. it comes down to personal preference in the end

I have the most rediculous quote as of yesterday. 4480's $995. Part only, NOT FITTED! HPC coated "they only come HPC coated" he said..

I replied actually, "NO they don't it's an extra $125(?) from Pacemaker to do that."

He then said, "of course I could specially order them for you with no HPC, and that would take about $300 off"

I walked out.

Luckily a mate of a mate is going to hook us up at mates rates. Just waiting to hear the result.

As far as systems go, most shops in ACT are quoting $360ish for a redback cat back fitted.

After I lower my EA, it's 4480's for me, eBay have got em, about $449? + ship
