New oil pump? If it's an old pump it could be too large the clearances in the pump, or a problem with the releif valve. Standard pumps seem pretty reliable tho. One other thing it could be is improper clearance in main or big end bearings. Could be as simple as a faulty sender unit too. First get a pressure guage and see how well pump is working with that. No rattles etc when under 1500?

what oil did you put in it? and does it happen cold?

do you have real pressure gauge on it? or are you relying on the in dash stuff?

replace the oil sender unit, and slap another earth strap on the block.

If you think you have oil pressure issues, check the pressure with a mechanical guage. You will get a pressure readout in PSI then any issues can be determined if you actually have any

psi should sit on 25-50psi when warm and if it drops below 10psi, your pump is dead mate!!!

Do as Krytox suggested and fit an extra bonding strap from engine to the chassis. EF/NF/DF have a history of poor electrical connections between negative battery terminal/engine block and negative battery terminal/chassis. First symptoms are usually low oil pressure indication and lower volts if you have the high series cluster.
