hey,
my xr just doesn't seem very quick off the mark. i am running a lukey sports exhaust and have done work on the suspension. it still has the 15" alloys on it. i swear i get burnt by a lot of cars off the mark.
perhaps it's my driving??

any ideas?
would a k&n filter make any diff?

theres always a trade off when you put a aftermarket exhaust on as you loose low down torque and gain top end torque.

i basically drop the clutch and then bang the accelerator ensuring i don't spin the wheels.

it's probably just me hey.
the car does well although the other week it felt like it was going to stall and i was sitting on 80-100km/h. bad fuel i assume as it hasn't done it since i put Caltex Vortex in it.

i rekon about 2000rpm. i figured if i was trying to drag off a mazda 6 or something if shouldn't need to rev her and then drop the clutch.

been a while since I drove a stocker but I reacon 2g is a little low. I hold the revs at 3500, then let the clutch out as fast as I can without spinning the wheels. While doing that push down on the loud pedal to keep the revs at 3500, when the clutch is out, flat to the floor and your off. Dropping the clutch will just smoke it up, but carefully lifting the clutch at higher rpm will get of the line hard (even with my s**t diff).

that has to be one of the most over used comments on this site.
and in this case as well as lot of other has nothing to do with the original post.

i have the same 2.5 inch exhaust on my EF XR6 5spd and i lost no power down low what so ever, the car is stronger every where in revs.

and i can will garranty you that fitting a 2.5inch system WILL NOT make your car loose low down power. dont beleive me, go do befor and after dyno runs
