Pull it off and put it on your car and see how it sounds. Or just hold the pod up to the throttle body and see if it makes the same noise.
On a semi-related noise note, a mate was telling me on the weekend how his mate with a WRX fitted a duck whistle onto the end of his BOV and every time he changes gear you hear this loud QUAAAAACK. 
Not sure how true it is but it sounds damn funny!

LOL @ the duck whistle!!
I even moved the pod around a bit and it still makes the same noise..  When its just idling it sounds like its sucking in coupious amounts of air.
He told me i should do the same thing to mine, pfft i prolly would if it sounded like his
