i dont know much about cars but i know people who know bout cars and they are pretty smart. could one of you car lovers tell me if you love a car but there is a nicer one for sale. if you could affort it would you buy it and get rid of the old one. Or would you stay with the car you no and love. and let the other car go. Even if it is your dream car. please advise.

Buy the new one and keep the old one and do them both up!

Well i can see some of us have emotional issues.... If the new one is better, then buy it, if not, keep the old.

I can see what little annie's talking about.
I love my car, even tho she's as stock as anything, has a hole in her exhaust, over 220000kms old, and has a few overheating problems on really hot days, I still love her to bits.
Now would i trade it in for a brand new falcon?
Of course... right??
see i dont know... I actually like the EF/EL's better than any of the newer models, plus i have so many memories in my EF... so I'd actually really struggle with a decision like that.

It is a hard desicion
What sort of car do you have now and what sort is the new car?
If this other car is as you said "your dream car" then I would seriously concider it depending on.
1. condition of new car
2. Price
3. Insurance
4. Condition of your current car
5. Reliablity of your current car

good luck with it

personal decision isn't it. personally I like new cars, but when I look at them I don't feel any desire to own them, show me an old Pre-XD Falcon, old Mustang, old Valiants, etc. no matter the condition and suddenly I start dreaming about what I could do to it!

If I knew the answer to this Q I'd be able to sleep better at night and keep my mind from wandering all day myself... Who knows, personal pref I presume.

If you're going to end the relationship to the love of your life, make sure your ending it for somthing that is much better.

The car in question MUST be at least three times better than the love of your life or you will regret it.

Sure, you will miss your ex. You will think about her from time to time and maybe even shed a tear. But if you can look out at the driveway to something that is better, meaner, slicker, faster and of better quality, the pain will ease.

Time heals.
