hey hows it goin, im having a lil trouble with the pod filter... i drive an AUII Forte, auto with petrol and im thinking of buying a pod filter, but im not sure whether i should modify my stock air filter to fit in a pod, or to remove the whole stock airfilter with snorkle and just have the pod filter fitted out in the open?
what are your opinions, or advice, because i really dont know were to go? thanks for any help peace |

Try a search for 'pod' on ehre, you'll be suprised how many results you'll find. You'll also find endless posts saying pretty much the same thing, pannel.

in my opinion if the pod isnt routed to the front of the car where its getting copious ammounts of cold air or properly heat sheilded then its only there as a wank factor. do yourself a favor and get a panel will be heaps easier to install and will give you benifit more from it

i have seen one AU with one smart guy using pvc pipe (or somthing similar) running just below the front bar out the front and had a pod filter inline somhow, maybe using the stock airbox? but the pipe was like 3 inch and i bet if u have a 3 inch pipe going to ur intake then u would gain a bit of power!

there was articles about dyno tests, panel was better in the end
get a k&n or redline. otherwise mount it properly and waste excess of $200 for wank factor for no apparent reason . spend money wisely, cam, exhaust, extractors, brakes, suspensoin, mods. |

PODs are only an advantage if you have had some serious Mod work done to your Motor. Otherwise stick to the Panel

Seeing as you want cold air, using the existing airbox is the most effective method after fitting a decent air filter in it as well as a larger CAI. Also, those guys that do run pipe down to their front bar do get heaps of nice cold air but should they ever drive through water or a small flood on the road then that water can easily get sucked up the pipe and straight into the engine.

pod in the airbox seems to work good. thats what i have now, power wise it seems the same as a panel filter, but it feeks more responsive. oh and you get a nice induction noise
