Is this happening on an EA/EB? The horn pressure switch assembly has foam sandwitched between 2 sheet metal plates from memory. The foam perishes and contact between the switches is made. When this happened to me I removed the assembly, separated the plates and replaced the foam with a similar piece of computer packaging. It's an easy fix.

had same problem with ed .put new foam between the 2 plates on horn and never had problem again. If this doesn't work you will have to get a new horn. This is your only trouble it is not your wiring so good luck

Was the horn sounding a constant blast? Like someone holding their hand on the horn? Or was it a series of short sounds?
If it was a series of short sounds it could be a Smartlock issue. As smartlock will set off a series of short blasts if the fob button is pressed when a door is partly open. If this is the case your problem may not be in the steering wheel buttons.
