well, if it is, hopefully he will come to me for a rebuild :)

Sorry mate, engine is plenty strong enough. Not going to need a rebuild any time soon.

The redline and rev limiter is there to prevent you from harming your engine. If it was unsafe to spin the motor that fast, the rev limiter would be lower!!!

The V8 falcons dont have a rev limiter apparently!?

And my 4L happily revs out to 7000rpm, just need to install the 30lb/hr injectors

Short specs: 5 speed EF I6, rebuilt and balanced with qualiy parts, headwork, wade 1521a, chiptorque. Machining was done by Chris Milton Engine Developments (bit by Bruce Heinrich as well) and I bolted it all together.

LOL - looking at your ED piston doesnt inspire me with much confidence. My rods are all still straight at least

Thanks for the advice, but no engine is going to last for ever, Im going to enjoy the work I put into in instead of wrapping it in cotton balls and driving it like a granny. I built the engine to be strong. Everything from the balancer to the pressure plate is balanced, the rods and pistons are machined to within 0.1g of each other, the crank has about 15x10mm holes machined along the counterweights so that it spins true. 6000rpm for a properly balanced engine is not going to kill it in any hurry.

I thought I'd try something different - just to be original.
Next oil change, I'm going to fill my crankcase with radiator coolant and fill my radiator with oil

Cooling is cooling right?

How long will my car last before I need to do the next oil change?
Will my oil filter last longer because it is not getting filled with sludge?
Maybe get a couple of coolant changes out of it.

Should I try doing this on GT4 first?

(this is a joke peeples)

no try it in your own car first, if it works well then try it on GT4...
great theory, just the application was messed up..
