Has anyone out of interest seen the saloon car series on speed week recently? Back a few years ago it was a 50/50 split of falcons and commonwhores. Know its all au xr6's and like a hand full of vt/vx commodores :) .
The governing body of this series is struggling to find parity between the two models. The falcons greater torque and superior handling say bye bye to the lion. I think there was talk of detuning the falcons which run around 180kw rwkw roughly.

seen it i tune a few of them good value and no its just cheaper to build the falcon commonwhores handle better and are allowed more freedom!

the ea-ed package was also closer to the au than the vn-vp is to the vt!

good fun though and yes i tune more falcons than commonwhores!

yeah the falcons run a pacemaker 3in intake tube with a k&n open pod filter. All controlled intake, every falcon uses it from EA onwards that has a BBM manifold. They run a Stingray engine ECU management system and they mount their ign coil on the EL's up near the passenger side strut tower.

It was just on before on sbs. I have reservations on wether the commodores handle better because the falcons keep finding the inside line on them approaching corners.
The straight line speed of the falcon is awesome, the ecotec has no answers.

Firstly, must be pretty sad to be watching sbs? were you waiting for the foreign cheap porn movie to start?

Lets be fair, the standard ecotec V6 had the standard 4.0L for breakfast, power, smoothness and fuel economy, a triple wammy.

Yeah I'm sad also and watch a bit of speed week. lol. The Commodores were constanly getting caned a coupla years back now there is only a small handfull left, everyone has switched to Ford. lol.. I'm not sure how they are doing it but they have placed limitations on the Falcon to give the Buick powered cars a chance, but the Holdens that are left are still copping it sweet. My guess is they will keep restricting the Ford untill their even.

I personaly don't know where these terrorists come from, just love to stir the pot for fun. WELL ITS NOT FUNNY. Oh I'm king d$%k with my 300rwkw LS1 that uses more oil then fuel and still sounds s**t  .

Come to winton u hero and lets see how your piece of s#$t negotiates a corner! and what was that about ecotecs??????????? As soon as you thrash one they drop oil pressure and explode. rough, gutless piece of s**t only saved by short gearing.

The i6 just oozes with torque. No need to kickdown for extra motivation, just ride the wave. HP xr6's are owning the commonwhores, just imagine if the vct model came into the fray with alloy wishbones!!! Total ownage

exactly...think about how much better the commodore would have been with a falcon motor...or if the falcon got the same gear ratios as the commodore....

if u look at the torque curves the falcon is ahead everywhere...and in some places by a massive margine...
