Hi Guys

Not sure if i should be posting this in here or not but, i bought some mechanical meters from autobarn and want to know how to connect em up in an au series 1 fairmont.

From what i know the fairmonts use sensors, how would connect a mechanical meter and get it to work .

Vacuum, just plumb it into a vac line that gets vac at idle (any vac line should do).

Oil pressure a bit trickier. I'd suggest getting a t-piece fitting for the block. This takes the one fitting and turns it into 2. Then you can run the standard switch (for the idiot light) and the sender for the oil pressure gauge. The oil pressure guage will have come with some copper tubing. You need to find a way to get this to where you plan on mounting the gauge.

And before you ask - yes, you will have hot pressurised oil coming into the cabin and yes, it's probably illegal. Best way to get an accurate reading of oil pressure without spending big bucks tho.

the t-piece may not work in a coil-packed 6cyl.
the switch sits pretty close to the coil pack.
