hi guys im new here and just wondering if i could get some help on part upgrades.
my mate has an EL 3.9L everything stock, and kills my EB II 4L off the mark!
so far ive ive put on a 2.5' exhaust,(stock cat) a pod filter (heatshield to come) im currently installing the shift kit mod and have the EA intake manifold to put on this weekend.
what do you guys think would be the best way to go to get that bit more push off the mark?
im doing this car as a budget build so im not really looking for the top of the range sh!t.

thanks in advance

basic tune (plugs, leads, filters) get an EL intake manifold and fit it (with all the other gear) wont be too expensive. you'll get better economy out of it too.

EL's were only in 4.0L config too.

Mate if you want better acceleration, get some shorter diff gears. Will probably be your best bang for buck mod for an increase in acceleration especially off the mark - although it wont actually make any difference to the cars power it will make better use of the power

Why would you put a EA intake manifold on a EB series II they already have MPI fuel injection.

Or are you just talking about the EA intake tube that goes from the throttle body to the airbox(that is larger than the EB one and costs about $5 from the wreckers).

yeah ive got the piping that goes to the engine from the throttle body, i read that its was bigger but is it still worth putting it on, at least untill i can afford to do the el intake mod?

manifold swap is relitivly straight forward and fairly cheap. no major cutting / grinding / welding, mostly bolts

Ranio what is your budget?

3.45 diff gears will help.
CAI will help
Manual will help
Drop an EL XR6 motor will help.

All depends on your $$$$

well ive just been downsized from work, so its definatly a low budget builder, at this stage im looking to spend no more than $400 on one part ata time!

ive have a general idea of diffs but i dont know the differance between a 3.45 and a 3.7, whats better and how are they differant?

Leave the throttlebody, im almost 100% certain they are the same anyway.. Just change the rubber pipe to the EA one
