hi all
i had my ef on the dyno today after gettin my gas system fixed and wasn't all that pleased when i was given my results 117rwkw on 98oc and 115rwkw on gas, thats 10,000kms after i had just finished putting a new mild motor in with the following mods

k&n filter
GT snorkle
pacy extractors
2.5in redback exhaust (with blown out cat lol)
mild port work
over bore 60"
10:1 compression
wade 1673 cam
crow timing gear
XR6 fuel reg
re mapped Chip Torque chip (piggy back)

but what troubles me the most is 12months prior i had a stock i6 with just the intake mods, extractors, 2.5in exhaust and a crow stage 2 cam doing 130rwkw on 95oc and 127rwkw on gas? i will admit it was on a different dyno but i wouldn't think there would be that much variant in two dyno's would there? and so now i dont know who to believe and if there both right how can i be making such lil power? there are others on here with similar mods in the 140-50rwkw area

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!

if your running a mixer ring, your doing well.

First off I believe that you CAN see that kind of difference between 2 dyno's - some seem to be fairly optimistic...you're looking at what 10 or less percent between your figures? Second, without wanting to offend anyone, just because people say they get a certain figure doesn't guarantee the accuracy of the dyno or their story.. people might want to embellish what they see as a low figure...and thirdly, you're measuring at the back wheels - maybe there are different drivetrain losses between yours and other cars - you mentioned the engine stuff but what is your trans / diff like? I mean, a slippy auto isn't going to transmit quite as much as either a tight auto or a manual box... I dunno, totally my 00.02c worth...

havent had a chance only got the read outs today, but i am goin back to the first one next week i hope just for one run to prove a point. but do those figures look to make any sense?

was the old engine making to much power for the mods?
is the new engine not making enough?
who seems more right out of the 2?

the diff ratio is the same in both accounts 3.08 single spinner (added a lil more worn out now) and the gear box in the first run a aged EA T5 and now has been fully reconditioned in the latest run

NOTE: i am looking for genuine help so the figures on my power are the truth to the best of my knowledge and yes i am using a mixer ring

and just for added info in the first run 127rwkw on gas was with a polliauto aftermarket kit and now 115rwkw is with a air-rod system

this will be your problem.
compare how the gas was added to the intake between the two systems.
the mixer rings are mega restrictive and you would notice and instant increase if you took it off - also an easy way to determine if it is the issue.

so rip off the mixer ring and go for a drive on petrol, see if you notice much power increase...

Peak power doesn't tell the whole story.
Post actual print outs.

Also you can't expect to make the same power as others if you have a mixer ring fitted.
Wen you go back, do 6 runs, LPG, Petrol with mixer still fitted and petrol with out mixer fitted.
Two runs for each setup. that will at least give you an idea of where you are at.
If it still looks like it's WAY down on power, start looking for what you did wrong when building the engine.

Thats alright. The mixer ring is blocking half the t/b and restricting air flow big time.

Last year I put my NF 5.0 on the dyno at CMS Dyno day just for a laugh, and got 101 rwkw on gas with a Airod gas set up including mixer ring, with pretty much everything else stock! so your a few up on me, I was beaten by a AU taxi with 800,000kms on it!
Hopefully it might do a bit better this year with new exhaust with extractors, and a different style mixer ring.
