I would like to know is the timing chain from EF EL different to the AU ones ?
The reason why i'm asking is Ford list two different part numbers AU from 2/1998 onwards
it's different. I have a EL 4/1997 4.0L 6cyl.
But Ford can't tell me why. I have always thought they are the same.

On about half of the days that I drive my stock 2003 BA XT, I'll get in, hit the road, and then, just as quickly as that, the engine light will come on. At that point, the car will have no acceleration and will sound like it's running on two or three cylinders. All I can do is shift into neutral, turn off the engine, and start it up again; after that, it's good to go. Is this happening more frequently? I'd be grateful for any suggestions you have.
